1995 P Double Denomination weird as 11 cent or eleven cent they call it. My very special unique coin with two great leaders accidentally minted by US MINT. MY AVATAR......
There are some nice world coins you guys have, thanks for posting them. As for my favorites its hard for me to choose. Here are 2 that are very high on my list Note, (the first photo was taken by Siggi)
Here is mine. It's a 1940-A 10pf Military Occupation Coin from Germany. This example is currently out to PCGS for slabbing.
Here's one of my favorites: Antoninus Pius Aureus - Standing with globe Obverse: Laureate head right ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P IMP II Reverse: Antoninus wearing toga, standing left, holding globe in right hand TR POT XIX COS IIII He's holding the globe because "Rome rules the world" Struck: AD 155-156, Rome Size: 19.5mm Weight: 7.26gm Catalog: RIC 256a (laureate head, 256b is bare head) Ex: Forum Ancient Coins
Here is one of my favorites. 1733 MX F Pillar Dollar (8 Reales). This coin is the rare "MX" mintmark and was found by a friend of mine off the coast of Florida as part of a cluster of coins all corroded together. The coins on the outside were very heavily damaged but the center few coins turned out very nice, just slight sea water corrosion considering 250 years under the sea. Spanish Milled coinage was the coin of the world in it's day and remained legal tender in the USA until 1857. Our dollar coin is based on the 8 reales coin.
This is one of my favorites. It's because there is an eagle with a shield holding a shield with an eagle holding a shield! I love the detail. I
There are more expensive & historic coins but these are pretty I think this Italy 500 Lire is attractive with the young girl in Medieval clothes on the obverse & the Nina, Pinta, & Santa Maria on the reverse. I also like the flying condor design used on Chile coins in the 1950s. I’ll try to get a photo to post.
Nice to see you made it to cointalk. I frequesnt your site whenever I pick up an Irish hammered. Your coins and knowledge on the subject is brilliant!
A truly breathtaking coin. I love the numismatic proof that even the Ancients knew the world was round. guy
Curious: Why don't you like Irish gunmoney? I find their courseness and imperfections very appealing. (Then, again, my ancient Scottish blood makes me no fan of any monarchy.) guy
