Well Siggi,,,,You did it again. You are lucky I don't live in Iceland any more,,,,because if I did you would'nt have had a chance in heck of finding all these great little numismatic treasure's you have been finding,,,,,I guess its time to move back to Iceland before you grab everything on the Island,,,,,,,You are one luck dog,,I hate you,,,,LOL
What is the history behind these? As I understand it, the coin with this design was minted in copper-nickel from 1946 through 1969, and then in aluminum from 1970 through 1974. I assume yours were test pieces made in 1969 to test the upcoming composition change.
Siggi I enjoy reading your posts and have started a foreign collection myself (havent purchased anything in the past couple of months since I am working on my project)..thanks for sharing.
WOW!, they are awesome Siggi! I think this it more that those coins found you! If something that incredibly rare showed up in anybody elses hands (besides Iceman or me), they would have more than likely never been seen again. Most people would have NO CLUE what they are and either have spent them, or thrown them in a jar never too see the light of day. I'm very happy YOU found these my friend, Thank You so very much for sharing coins that none of us would have seen otherwise. Your just having a banner week!!!!!!! I am very happy for you!
