Are the 2011 mint sets satin or business strike?
    how about 2012?
how can I get current mintages on commems like the Medal of Honor and Army and Spouses?
what commems are due in 2012?
    thanks:thumb:

    Mint sets are business strike.

For the commem mintage try here http://www.numismaticnews.net/article/mint-stats-summer-numbers-stay-sluggish

2012 commems are US Army infantry, and Star Spangled Banner I don't know want anniversary they are honoring for the infantry and if it is just the fact it exists. For the Star Spangled Banner they are honoring the Bicentennial of the Star Spangled Banner on its 198th anniversary. The legislation actually puts it this way
The Battle of Baltimore took place in 1814.

In 2013 we get the Girl Scouts, and the Five Star Generals. That last one should be interesting because the law requires all five portraits to be on the coin.

As far as I know, the mint did away with the satin finish and the 2011s' are just regular business strike coins.

    As for your other questions......http://coinupdate.com/

do they have mintages? also all they say about 2011 mint set is "United States Mint uncirculated coins are struck on special presses using greater force than circulating coins, producing a sharp, intricately detailed image, and feature a brilliant finish. The coins are sealed in a blister and displayed in a folder. One folder contains coins bearing the “P” mint mark and the other contains coins bearing the “D” mint mark." I guess that is satin finish? no info on 2012 finish though- product schedule has no info on 2012 commems- really no useful info from the mint site (I looked there before posting questions).

No, that's not satin finish. Satin coins were struck with specially prepared dies and blanks. That's no longer being done. The fact that the coin is being struck under higher pressure doesn't make it a "satin finish". Just getting a "business strike" with a "better strike". :) (in theory anyway)

anyone notice that the gold unc Army and Medal of Honor commems have pretty low mintages (with the price of gold they may stay low)
    Army 5926
    MoH 5491

Well, I did spring for a "Medal of Honor" uncirc so it would be nice if the mintages remained low. The premium on these coins is outrageous though. Might be a deterent to the bullion investors for sure.

Unless a large sum of $ unexpectedly pops up for me I will pass on them. $450+ is just too much for this guy.
