Hi all, just thought I would share this site with everybody. I have nothing to do with the company at all, I just happened arcoss it while surfing the net. They are making some REALLY nice medals. Apparently, it started out as a Jewlery store. They purchased a press and went to town. There are also a couple short videos which were a little interesting.

I was in his store in 2006 and purchased one of his money clips and a ceramic eagle pin he had. His craftmanship is very good and the items he has are all above souvieneer quality. Not necessarily so with many of the other tourist operations in town. I will be back there again this September and will pay a little more attention to his medals this time.

Clicked on the link. That is some of the most expensive bullion I've ever seen. I hope nobody is paying 90 bucks for an ounce of silver.

It doesn't look to me like it's being sold as bullion, but as gifts, souvenirs, collectibles, etc.

I've been in the Anchorage store several times. They make some neat medels but are too overpriced for me. I do, however, like their gold matrix jewelry, or rather my wife does. One of the nicer jewelry stores I've been in anywhere.

Privately minted silver rounds? There's no numismatic value, so it looks like bullion to me.

Am I misunderstanding something here, because I think he said "The coins are then polished to a blindingly bright mirror finish " while he takes what looks like a whizzing tool to the coin.

I picked up the 4 peice set of 1995 puffin medals off Ebay alot cheaper than from their site. While I know there is no numismatic value and the silver is way above cost. I LIKE them, that is the most important reason. Collecting isn't always about profit, the joy of holding a peice of art in my hand is why I collect.

    Thanks for the replies!

Collecting is never about profit. Investing is. Rule #1 in collecting has always been "buy what you like, not what others tell you to like". Follow that and you'll never go wrong.

About the store in Anchorage..they are very customer oriented. I like to do business with them.. they stand by what they sell. Perhaps high priced, but the quality of the workmanship is top notch. (All of this is of course my opinion). Gold nuggets, gold in quartz, gold jewelry, all unique. They will dance a bit with price, depending of course on how much is on the table. AND, if you want it and don't see it, they'll make it! Also, very patient and friendly, and not high pressure.

    Good to know Lucyray,
I haven't delt with them directly. It's nice to hear they are a good company.
    Thanks for the info!

Glad you like them Siggi, that was the original reason for my post. They make do some quality medals. As you know, I'm a big fan of Puffins and finding them on coins or medals is pretty hard, (kinda like collecting Icelandic coins, LOL) When you do come across them, they usually arent very nice portraits. When I receive the set I bought I'll post some photos.

    Thanks Siggi

That's where we differ. If your looking at it for numismatic value, than it's just a piece of silver and might as well be a blank round. I'm looking at them as art, so they're more than just bullion in my eyes.
