That's $80 worth of silver for $4.50 face. When you look at it that way, there is no better investment.

Frustrating, but a whole lot better than a skunk or a sharp stick in the eye

Today was interesting...here's the play by play:

    1. Stopped at my local 7-11 to get a soda on the way to work and got a 1951 Wheat Penny in the change. Saved that for the kids.
    2. Went to the bank to dump (TD Bank), went to Wells Fargo and got 2 boxes of dimes to search later.
    3. Grabbed a burger at McD's and got a 1964 Quarter in my change!
    4. Got back to work to attend a Noon meeting...found out it was cancelled at 12:55 p.m.
    5. Got annoyed and decide to go search my dimes...Box 1: 2 x Silver Rosies.... Box 2: 4 x Silver Rosies
    6. Decided I still had time so I ran dumped and reloaded with 2 more boxes of dimes
    7. Searched the dimes tonight (not as much volume, but still cool)....Box 3: 1 x Silver Rosie...Box 4: 1 x 1942 Mercury

    Totals for Day:
    1 - 1952 Wheatie
    1 - 1964 Silver Quarter
    1 - 1942 Mercury Dime
    7 - Silver Rosies

Over a $1 face in Silver!!!

Second box of the day got me a single 46. But....

There was more in the reject slot, a lot more.

Totals (all dimes) of the day:

    64 x 2
    62D
    54x2
    53D
    52
    46 x 3
    44
    44D

Gives me 12 for the day

Also gives me Year to Date 252 silver dimes

In my laundry room, my mother finds coins in the washer from time to time and sets them aside on the ironing board. Today, there were four dimes and one of them turned out to be a 1959. It was in pretty good shape, too, very shiny.

Awesome finds in the reject bin! I never seem to have near as much luck w/ the reject bins as others do on here. Nice!

I pick up what is left after I dump my own coins, nothing more.

I can't imagine what is left there on a daily basis. Yesterday was completely abnormal (and was two separate dumps at two different banks), normally there is nothing.

    Yes.

Most of the time when I am using a bank coin counter they will have to come open the machine to put in a new bag for halves because I filled it. At that point you can look in the reject tube. Sometimes they will grab the coins before I can and throw them in the coin counter. This happened to me yesterday but after the teller threw the coins in the counter (which had stopped due to the full bag) she changed the bag and didn't start up the counter right away. I looked on top of my remaining coins and grabbed a '43 quarter and '44 Merc! Made up for the skunk box of halves that day.

Skunked on some more halves...it is really nasty out here in Nor Cal...very little silver lately, and the local paper keeps running a spread on coins and gold and what not...doesn't help. I think I am officialy going to move to dimes. Perhaps I will get something managable at first, say $50-100 and then dump at a Coinstar, then snag a gift card to avoid fees...that is the only way I can really manage to search since NO BANKS here will take rolled coin...believe it or not.

Also, I have 2 War Nickels, both 1944P's, and I was wondering if anyone needed a 1944P? I am wanting any other year or mint-mark besides '44P so perhaps we could trade? PM me =D.
