don't know where the stuff I wrote wen't but here it is again.. My sister inlaw found this in a roll at her work and kept it for me! How did it happen? Should I get it graded? What do you think? I think it's pretty cool...
It was punched out of a thin sheet then sandwiched between two rollers to upset the rim then just never made it to its final destination, the coin press. It's cool and collectable. If you want it attributed, send it off to a TPG. I don't know that that's really necessary, though.
Agreed. They are fun finds and not that common...but not that rare either. I think they are something every coin collection needs. I wouldn't have it graded...I'd say it's worth a couple dollars at most.
That's not true. Blank planchets have a little collector value. They are worth a couple dollars or so.
This. Red, for the amount you talk up your coins (Which are pretty much average straight across the board from what I've seen), I think you'd have a bit more respect for others and their finds/purchases. And don't go post a picture of your "double denomination" error that you put on ebay for an outrageous cost and made you the laughingstock of this forum as a way of proving otherwise, it's still as big of a joke at that price as it was the day you first listed it.
It is not joke.. it is for real I do have 10 blank cent and trying to spent it in convenience market store the clerk does not accept it as ten cent..Clerk said it is blank. no value at all. Sorry if you insist to buy it here i all a cop. it's my experiened... Do you think you can spent that blank cent to the store?
^ oh dang - fightin' words also, it looks like it could have come out of a 2011 roll that the company had, it looks like it is in really good condition for a blank coin, I would just send it in to ANACS, because blanks in that good condition are hard to find. It is probably not worth it to do that, but I would do it just to peak my interests
OK guys, settle down. I don't want to see any more arguing in this thread. This is the only warning I will be giving.
Sure, technically, since it has no denomination, but I'm sure any vending machine that accepts cents would take it. And besides, that's not what he was asking, now was it? =) baddonky, definitely a keeper!
Thank's for all the input, I will keep it for sure. Now I got to get back to finding me some silver!!
... wait a second... you have the authority to do that?... CONGRATS!!!! :hail: I didn't notice until just now
What a neat find; good thing you have a sister in-law that's always on the lookout for you. Your brother did good; she's a keeper -LTB
I don't think you can spend a 1/2 cent, large cent, 2 cent piece, half dime...ect but that does not mean it has "no value at all"
I believe you can. All of those coins are still legal tender in the US. But, I doubt anybody would accept them because they would have no idea what they were.
