the only "toned coins i have are really when no other example is available, that said i have a german east africa 1/4 rupie which is a nice blue colour but i would still prefer a brighter specimen.

This Balboa is pretty cool in hand of course . I believe it is a one year type but my world catalog is at work so I can't verify accept with my memory. It was graded a MS 64 and has a small digger in the field below the chin or it might have graded higher. I had it slabbed mainly to protect it and enhance its presentation. Later, Matt

a nice even patination with age is fine but some of the "rainbow" toned coins look hideous, and they are extremely easy to articially create, i tried my theory by leaving a 2 pence piece in malt vinegar for 10 minutes............hey presto a rainbow toned coin.

    Great Balboa, coppermania!

Here is mine. I'm sure I've posted it before but it is still the undefeated champion as far as my toned coins go...and believe me I have a lot :)
