$800 worth of halves searched and 11 40% finds - no 90%. Searched a $100 bag of nickels, no buffers, but did find a couple of silver war nickels the 43-D and the 45-S along with several other 40s and 50s dates and several 68-70 S-mints. I love finding silver, it is just so sexxay to find it.

I do between 3 and 4 a week. I just divided the weeks I've been doing this by the number of boxes I've done and my average is 3.3 per week.

I did a box yesterday and found 5 40%ers. In my previous 12 boxes, I had found exactly 5, so yesterday's box was quite welcome. :)

    Finally reporting my box
3 Wheat, one was a 1918-D, the rest common 40s dates. I think I got more but accidentally put them with the coppers
    13 Canadian, 9 copper
    2 BU,1960 MS 63-64, 1963 MS 65
    1 SMS, 1967, SP 66+
$5 face copper, give or take a some, just a guess.

My grandma let me look through her coin jar, I didn't have a lot of time so I just took the first 100.
97 Coppers( Including a 1980-D that is blue all over)
    1 BU, 1968-S, I'm beginning to think it's a proof, has a different luster then other BU's I found. MS/PR? 66+
    1 Canadian 2004
    1 Wheat, 1958-D

Stopped at my bank to pick up 2 boxes of halves.

    Both boxes - Skunks!

The teller says she saved a dollar coin for me that someone dropped off yesterday. So, I said cool...thanks so much! It turns out it was a:

2007 W American Eagle One Ounce Silver $1 Dollar

    2007 Silver Liberty.jpg

Needless to say, the Skunk boxes of halves did not hurt so bad!!!!

Wow, an American Silver Eagle at face!!!!!

    Major Score.

I did another box of halves today and found 6 40%ers. That's two decent boxes in a row. :) I have one more box to go through....

I got skunked on a box of halves, skunked on a box of dimes too. Another box of dimes I did pick up 1 silver and a 1967 canadian with the fish on it. $200 in CWR picked up another 5 silver dimes and got 2 40%'s out of 11.50 loose from the tellers :)

So I finally had some of my money freed up, and went to PNC to order a box of halves. When I got there they said they actually had one on hand? I took it, it was NF String, and it had nothing, and it just felt looked through. So I decided to go back to Bank of America, who gets their boxes from the Fed, even though I had closed my account there to see if they would order me a box. The teller who I usually placed my orders with when I was searching before said that he would and I picked up the box today. The results were 6 40% and 2 90%. Also there were 5 NIFC including a 2011 p, which is amazing that it went back into circulation so quickly. Also I found 6 proofs with mirror finishes : 86, 95, 98, 00, 01, 02. Overall a very fun box, needless to say I will definitely be going back to BAC to order boxes of halves.

p.s. I went in the same trip to dump the first skunk box of halves and the coin counter at Navy Federal was temporarily out of service. I then went to TD Bank to use theirs and counted out 50 halves just to make sure the counter was accurate. The count came back 42. Uhhh.... So I asked the teller if I could buy 1.00 in pennys just to run through and hopefully flush out those extra 8 halves and it came back 1.00. So that sucks. I took the rest of the halves home to dump later.

Searched through a box of nickels today and found one War Nickel, a 1945-P, 29 early Jeffersons (Oldest was a 1939, but the real treat was a near full-step, lustrous 1940). I also found three Canadians, a five Euro cent coin, and my first 2011 Jeffersons from circulation-three of them (2 P's and 1 D).

Bare with me, a fun day of pirating. I have a lot of days off during the summer so those are my best months.

1.Slept in a bit then got up to head out. Decided to get a box to start the day. Bob Cap one has boxes dated June 6th if you need any. Found 1 1967 and one nice 1998S.
    2. Headed to a yard sale near my mother in laws that I knew had some coins.
    3. Since I was in a new area, I stopped at two banks. First did not have any halves. 2nd had 5 rolls in a baggie with 1968-1974 written in sharpie. First roll 6 40%'ers, 2nd roll 20 68's, third roll 20 69's and so on. In total, 72 of the 100 coins in the 5 rolls were 40%'ers.:hail:
    4. Made it to the yard sale. Sat inside with the guy for an hour and a half going throuugh coins. He gave me a 5 CD set of some world book of coins guide (Not familiar with it or remember exact name but in my truck). When I left I walked out with a bag of appx 4 pounds of silver coins mostly 1 ounce Bullion coins such as ASE's and Maples.
    5. Since I had tapped more cash that expected, I stopped by the coin shop on the way home. Sold 6 rolls of 40%'ers for $97 a roll. Was going to come back and buy some BU Franklins from them later when I had $1,000 to spend so no tax. The guy said as long as what I sold was over what I bought, I did not have to pay tax. That was new so I Cherry picked the BU and Proof Franklins.
    6. Bought (traded) for some gorgeous Franklins. Found a 70D 40% half in the box which he sold to me for $5.78.
    7. Headed home and stopped in a bank near my house to find $12 in halves of which 11 were 40%'ers.
    8. Pulled up to camp to get my kids at 4:59 with a minute to spare.
    9. Checking the dates, one of the Morgans is a better date 1896S which could be a nice return!

Anyway, a pirate's work is never done so back at it tomorrow!

    This weeks tally....

    Holy cow Erin!

you have some crazy luck there mister!

Did my 5th box of halves for the week. Got 1 40%er. My totals for the week are
    2 skunks
    2 boxes w/ 1 40%er
    1 box w/ 2 40%ers

As long as I don't get all skunks all take that week anyday of the week. Still dreaming of finding full rolls of silver at banks though, that is awesome Erin!

Oh yeah, nice score on the ASE for face ACE!

Any good Metal detecting finds lately Yacorie? I'm going water-hunting tomorrow, hopefully I have something good to boast about.

Sorry I am new to all of this, but when you say you bought a box, what does that mean? How many are in a box? Do you order them through the bank?

50 rolls are in a box so, in a box of cents you have $25, nickels $100, etc....
