    Hi,

I have seen coins on eBay that say COPY. Obviously not originals, but, is that legal? Or is it OK as long as it says COPY? What's the story on that?

    Thanks,
    Ismael

It is legal as long as the seller does'nt try to pass it off as a real coin.

The Hobby Protection Act of 1973 requires non-genuine coins to bear the word COPY when sold. Your coin meets that requirement so it is legal (assuming it meets all the details of the HPA).

They are OK so long ans they are marked "COPY". eBay's rule is they are OK so long as they are pictured as marked. However, if you receive one unmarked, eBay will take action.
