List the date of slabbing when you go to check out the Cert #? Wondering what you guys think.

    Why?

They stand behind their grades with CASH which is all the date any buyer really needs.

Yeah, after charging you to review the grade. I'd prefer to just know when the coin was graded so I can know if it's stable in the holder or not. They switched over to the blue slab inserts in 1998, nearly 13 years ago. There's a big difference in the known stability of a RD cent that was slabbed in, say, 1999 and one that was slabbed a month ago. If I'm looking at 09-S VDB's, where a nice RD color can cause the price to jump by multiples, I'd prefer to know that the coin is stable and won't turn on me.
It's not like they don't have the dates tucked away somewhere in their systems...

I always end up wanting more details when I see a grade

I sort of wish that in addition to the overall grade they provide now ... they would also do a number/grade for details, another number for color, maybe another for eye appeal, perhaps another for bag marks or scratches. Not all MS61's are created the same. Sometimes an eye appealing AU58 is a better coin than an ugly marked up MS63 and deserves a higher price.

One coin might be a 67 for color, but only a 64 for details ... Another might be a 61 for color but a 67 for details .. Oh well, never mind, that would probably make everybody's head explode!

If there was a visible date of slabbing, it would invite public criticism of how their grading standards may have changed, as it is, all just say buy the coin and not the slab, as we know the grading standards haven't become stricter. It is their ball, so we have to accept their rules or find another game.
