I am pretty much in the same category as DMiller. I take a certain amount out of my spending money each week. If it will buy a coin I need I will go ahead and buy it, if not then I save the money up until I have enough. There is only one coin shop close to me so I buy alot on the internet and from out of town dealers.
I tend to shoot a wad a few times a week. Been tending to blow cash on Teletrade auctions. Then the coins come in, I add them. Most of my Morgans have been added since November.
I am in North Texas and we average about 2 coin shows a month, it's a nice problem to have. I add coins monthly to my collection.
I get something every week, sometimes several things. I grab proof coins from eBay and search rolls. Sometimes I but a "lot". If I sell something, I always try to buy something else. It's how I fill the time.
Put coins down on the wedding registry:hail: Unless of course you are the dad to the wedding party, then you might be plum out of luck temporarily. Someone should invent the Silver Dollar Dance.
I know there will be chocolate coins at the reception. Not sure what father-in-law is brewing up for later. He did give me a 1986 Engelhart "Prospector" for Christmas. He worked for them for over 3 years. We shall see.
Same here Green! Seems to be drying out. Tuesday is false advertising... they say hundreds of coins with no reserve... I counted the coins recently and there were under 100
With you and green on this one. Lately nothing on any of the auction houses, but Heritage has a nice big one coming that I see several coins I would like.
I add to my collection whenever IU have the cash to. I also pour alot of money into my stamps too, so I have to divide it up, and if any of you collect stamps, you know that Postage-Dues are expensive in mint condition.
