Went detecting today here in Michigan. Great weather for it, nice and cool. Found this 1918 S Walking Liberty Half Dollar along with two mercs. The 1916 I was hoping for a D mint mark but it just wouldn't show up now matter how hard I tried to make it. The one Indian head penny is a 1906. Found lots of wheaties and other clad coinage. Fun stuff.

That is awesome. Do you usually find that much stuff when you go out?

Well shoot, nice finds, all I ever find is 1970's pop tops and snipped off barbed wire.

Looks like you had a nice day, congratz. I went the other day and found nothing, but did find a very old Pepsi bottle and it was half submerged in moss...

Great finds! Like some of the others, all I find is pop tops and pull tabs! Keep on hunting!

I usually find something old. How much depends on how much was lost where I'm detecting. I try to hit spots that had activity back in the day to increase my odds of old finds. thanks, Jim

I found the two mercs at an old fairground site. I found the indian and half at an old home site, with permission of course. Thanks, Jim

Who do you ask for permission the person that owns the property? And how do you go about contacting them?

Maybe you should start a pull tab collection wooleytree. You can share stories with BR549. :D

Nice JimmieJam. Your 1916 Merc is in better condition than most of the ones I come across in coin shops.
