    1 '67 half out of 15$ loose, makes up somewhat for the skunk of a dime box.

    Hellofthenorth - It's been a great week! I'm counting my blessing right now. This kind of reminds me of BlackJack or Poker at the casinos...you catch these mad runs and then go stone cold for awhile.

    The good thing with this is you really are not gambling anything other than time. That's what I love the best about it. So, when it pays out...it's a great feeling!

    If I find halves that are obviously dumps, I still look through them. Once I got a box of halves that was duct-taped shut, and all the rolls were folded over on one side. I still looked, and found 2 40%ers that were black on the edges. So it may pay off. Also, the person could have been looking only for silver. I've found what seem like dumps with proofs or NIFCs in them, so I take that as a win.
    And with the tellers, you just have to be nice. Even if they have the "I hate my job" attitude, be nice. You'll be coming back to that bank sometime probably. It also helps if you're as handsome and charismatic as I am, so those tellers just can't keep frowning when you walk in.
    (just a little joke... sort of)

    You're gambling with time and gasoline, too, unless you call the banks first.

    Chester. WOW!!! I've never pulled a Barber, CONGRATS!!!!

    After only getting 1 box last weekend, I decided to get my normal 3-4 this week.

    Box 1 Skunk
    Box 2 2 40%ers (Double my total for the last 10 boxes combined, lol)
    Box 3 Will open later.

    However, I also spotted a silver quarter in the teller tray and I got it at face....a 1962 :D
    And, I finally found some 2011 D cent rolls. I'd like to trade for 2 2011 P BU cent rolls....PM me if interested.

    $120 in Halves $100 Dimes

    Went in to a local bank and asked the nice ladies for my usual dimes on my Friday lunch break. I said I'll take $100. She goes into the vault and comes out with the dimes. Then goes, don't you always ask for half dollars? I said "yeah thats me, thanks for remebering". She then tells me, I have $340 something in halves someone just turned in, I just saw them in the vault. I'm now thinking someones dumps, but this is a tiny town and I have $120 more on me. I said if you got a bag I'll take $120 of them, and she was super happy. She goes to get them and starts putting them on the counter. I can hear the silver in them. I thank them both kindly and take off down the road to my car. I opened first roll and there is one 40%. I open two more rolls and skunk. I'm now thinking I guess I CAN'T hear the silver. The next two rolls each produce 2 x 40%. I did HEAR silver. I then lock my car and run back into the bank. I asked them if open tomorrow and she says no open on Monday. I asked them to save me the halves but they said they really could not do that, but they don't expect anyone to be buying them. I told them I would be back first thing Monday to take the rest of them. I'm killing myself for not having a crapton of cash on me! I'll post when the final results are tallied, and I hope the dimes she gave me came from the same person.

    I find a few, I suppose.

    Box of nickels gave up a "rusty" '43-P... guessing it was a dug coin, as well as an '06-S, and a '60-D "Bar" nickel.

    This bank in all of my visits has only ever produced one clad 1991 half, and now this. I do have a hard time finding halves around here, there is never a "box in the vault" just what people turn in, so I typically resort to searching dimes. It was my lucky day for sure.

    Friday Report

    BWR H's: 200 rolls -> 2 x 90%, 5 x 40%, 15 x NIFC
    Box 1: 1 x 1964; 3 x NIFC
    Box 2: 4 x 40%; 1 x 1964; 1 x NIFC
    Box 3: 1 x 40%; 8 x NIFC
    Box 4: 3 x NIFC
    BWR P's: 25 rolls -> 6 rolls Cu, 3 wheaties

    The no car thing continues to mess up the hunt. :veryangry:

    Got a box of H's coming in at my favorite bank this afternoon; finally was able to set up standing order for 2 boxes H's and a box of D's every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. :b8nce:

    However, with the good, I must take the bad - went to my usual dump bank (BoA) this morning, and they informed me they are going to start charging $5 for coin drop-offs... PER BAG!! WTF?!? That's $5 for every box I bring in. :eek:

    I was previously told that there would be no fee if the coins are rolled, and $3 fee for loose coins in the bag. I am going to check with The Wife's friend that manages our nearest BoA, to see if she can clarify for me.

    Have good weekend everyone!
