Question: Does keeping your coins in a whitman folder cause them to tone this way? Ive got 23 folders, all full and have not seen this type of toning!

Chemicals make it tone this way.

Only if you soak it in chemicals, first!

I do not care for the tining on that coin as it looks like a home toning experiment gone bad.

The source of the toning is obviously unknown to me but I have a couple of Kennedy's that have been in a Green Littleton fold-over folder that have taken on a "questionable" appearance even though the coins have not had anything added to them over the years.

    Here's 2008's photos:

And here are photo's from today:

Both coins are on the back page just before the informational fold over and on the row closest to the seam.

Whats going on is unknown to me but I'm sure that if these were submitted, they'd get rejected even though its perfectly natural.
Market Acceptability is a completely different story.

    First of all it's a 1992
    Now 19lyds
Said his would be rejected, but they very nice and natural coins.
If they are natural why would they be rejected?
They are great looking coins I just don't understand why.
I am learning allot about toned coins, this is a very good lesson for me.
For the couple dollars I spent on the coin

When I saw the title "Another Kennedy",
I thought that another member of the Kennedy family
had been placed on a US coin (3 so far).

    :)
