I'm actually in Illinois around Chicago. The Astoria I use just from my namesake "Chester Copperpot" from the movie the Goonies.

I use a few different banks.
    Charter One, BOA, US Bank.

One dump bank so far, TCF, gotta open another account soon to dump. I'm thinking Harris or Citibank. Need another bank that takes halves. Had to get rid of 5th 3rd b/c they don't and they are dicks anyway.

$100 in quarter rolls. No such luck on the silver but did find some nice SQ's for my daughter's folder and another nice ATB Mt. Hood.

Casinos are a great place to get halves! Everytime I head out to reno I get some at the cage. Their table games still pay out half dollars and I have tons of luck spotting the white edged silver in their chip tray. It's like a kid in a candy store :)

I went through the promising box of pennies and the results didn't disappoint. 45 out of 50 rolls had at least 1 wheat. 30 out of the 50 had at least 2 wheats. There were a total of 102 wheats in the box. Unfortunately there was only 1 that was before 1940 and it was a 1918 which I already had. :( I did get a '46-S, a '49-S and a '51-S. I swear when I get the usual 10-15 wheats there are more variety than when I have gotten the monster boxes. Also in the box was 1 extra wheat that was unrecognizable, 2 canadians, and 1 bahamas cent with a cool starfish on the front.

This reminded me of a friend of mine who is making a photography book of coins that feature plants/animals on them. I sent him some Tongan and Samoan coins a while ago, told him to keep them, as they weren't even worth the return shipping, but I haven't heard much about the project since then. I went to look for some more info, and I came across this:

Thread: Photographer Seeks Help With World Coins Book

So, if anyone has any of the coins he is seeking to photograph, I can vouch for the authenticity of what he is doing, and personally guarantee that he will treat you and your coins with the utmost respect.

Now, on to my H's and D's...

I spotted a war nickel in a fountain while waiting for the bus. I almost grabbed it, but then that persons wish wouldn't come true. :(

That's a heck of a streak to go through and not have any silver to show for it. You will get something huge here real soon, I can feel the mojo happening!

No silver for me today, but the wife's friend did let me search her quarters and I found a Maryland-S quarter, clad. My first proof from circulation and my second proof total!

    2 boxes of halves:

    box1: Skunkcity
box2: 86 proof, Panama half dollar (really cool looking) and a clad coin that someone "hollowed" out w/ a machine. It literally does not have a tails side, but heads is in perfect shape, the sides and grooves are in perfect shape, but its like a big drill bit took out the contents. Its really light, so I kept it. I'll have to get a pic of it...any one see something like this before? My first for sure :)

Click on the "magician's coin" link in my comment; there are pictures of how they are constructed.

I have found 4 or 5 of these "magician's coins."

    Yesterday and today
    Bank 1: $34 of halves
    Bank 2: $45 of halves
Bank 3: 1 box of dimes

Skunk, skunk, and skunk and jelly sandwich.

We have sucked all of the silver out of Houston. There is none left.....

    lol

OK, let's try the mojo thing:
    I haven't found silver in a while

    Box of Nickels

Grabbed a Box of Nickels over the weekend, most BWR's - Strings & Son and a few CWR's mixed in there to make a full box.
2 x War Nickels - both P's not really in good shape, no bother by me
kept some of the older ones from 30's & 40's and a few lower 50's

Any help on what older nickels I should be looking for? Most were no mint mark but I got a few D's mixed in there
    Thanks
