You mean the "W's"? Still in the running. At least the subscription is still there and shows 2011.

Anyone buying 100 of them? Seems like they could knock a buck off for that many.

That's a good deal. It will be a money maker when silver holds above $40 again.

I don;t think its too much considering I just sold a 2010 Proof SAE last Sunday for $70.00.

However, if a lot of folks actually feel its too high and they decide not to order, then the released and/or sold quantities could be very low which in turn would create higher demand in the after market in a year or so making that $59.95 price look like chicken feed.

They don;t mint these all at once you know and lack luster sales would most assuredly guarantee low mintages and higher demand.

I don't think this will work in terms of setting up the subscription at least for this year's Proof ASE. If I remember correctly I set up subscription last year shortly before the 2010 Proof ASE was released but it was not automatically sent to me. When I called the Mint I was told that the subscription would start with the coin issued the following year from when I set up my subscription. So you may want to call the Mint and double check.

Check again Darryl. Yesterday my subscription read the same. I just went in and checked and now it reads $59.95

I am a little confused about something. Can I purchase the regular ASE coin, the one that sells for around $45.00 now, on the US Mint website using the subscription program?

That's the regular bullion item and is only available to authorized buyers. The Proof and (hopefully) the "W" collector piece will be available for purchase in the next few weeks.....

Between 8:45 am this morning and the time you posted they updated the website. 8:45am is when I placed my subscription order and it was still at the $45 price. Now it has clearly been updated. :) I knew it was going up because of this thread so it does not bother me that it did.

My gut says that although that is a high price, the coin will probably hold it's value for a few reasons.

Silver being high and probable lower mintage being the top 2.

I'm with you on this 18Lyds. I sold a bunch for just under $80 at the peak. Occasionally the mint does something right. But the only issues I have a use for are the gold, silver and platinum oz.s and fractionals. Pretty much, everything else is much ado about nothing.

BTW where can I get a hat like yours?
