1958-D lincoln guess the grade

    What would you guys grade this. I know it's a really common date, but the luster is just awesome.

    66 Red if it were a tougher date such as 54-P it,

    66 Red if it were a tougher date such as 54-P it would bring a fortune.

    I would say 65RD.

    I think that will make a 66 and probably red.

    63-64RD (too many scratches to go higher).

    Wow, you guys are generous. It may have nice luster, but it also has a lot of hits: MS63 RD maybe MS64 RD on a good day. The bad thing is there's a LOT of hits in the obverse focal fields. Those fields go a LONG way toward the final grade.

    Before I saw the other grades, I was going to say MS 64 RD. Quite a few dings in Abe's coat and in the right obverse field. Bad Thad knows his Lincolns so I am glad to see I was around his grade.
    Great luster and a good look -- enjoy it. Thanks for the pics.

    Aside from the fact that this is a 2 year old thread, details on Abe's beard? Those went away in the 20's!
