the most beautiful W.L.Half, ever?

I just got this in the mail today. I loved the coin based on the sellers photos (enough to pay a steep 2.68x toning premium), but when I got it in hand it was even more beautiful than his photos suggested. The hints of green and blue on the obverse were a total surprise, the coin totally blew me away.

I just snapped these photos with my iPhone, in bright indirect sunlight; and even these jaw-dropping photos don't do the coin justice. I have NEVER seen a more beautiful Walking Liberty Half Dollar (proof or otherwise) -- and this might rival the most beautiful U.S. coin I've ever seen.

Sometimes when you open the envelope it's a tragedy; and other times the trumpets blare and the angels sing. This was definitely a case of the latter.

By the way, here are the sellers photos. More light, which is good, but it doesnt pick up the green and blue in the obverse -- however, adding light does show off the electric pink color around the date.

Most of us agree that the Walker (without a doubt) is the most beautiful U.S. coin ever minted. And yours is definitely a prime example!

Ditto! Even though I'm not a big toning guy. I'd be proud to have that beauty in my collection.

Oval_man, you picked it right!! I remember you picked the 1944-D over another cheaper coin (a 1945-S at one-third the price) that I posted in a "which one is better" thread. Good eye!

I wasn't convinced until I saw the 44-D in hand. Glad I "bought two to pick one" for my type collection. I havent gotten the 45-S in the mail yet -- but at this point, the contest is over, i just dont see how the 45-S can beat out the 44-D.

By the way, this was the other "contestant". Oval_man called it perfectly. The 45-S has a much weaker strike and pcgs has it 2 grade steps lower (though it has great luster) and is still a very appealing coin.
