Yes, we have had terrific luck. And, remember, Incarnate just picked up something like 35 40%ers recently at another bank in the area. There has to be another dozen or so people doing this in Houston and it really is thinning out our finds.

I have a basic question I'm hoping I can get some feedback with...today I searched 3 boxes of dimes from TD Bank. All the dimes were in clear wrap from Brinks.

So, here is my question....Have you found better luck hunting:

    1. The clear wrap rolls of dimes (I know technically it is easier than wrapping all rolls open)
    2. The paper wrapped rolls (which require opening all the rolls)
    3. Doesn't matter...same difference either way

I just find that the clear wraps just didn't seem to do much for me.

    Thanks,

    Ace

Well keep searching Bob, your next big find is always around the corner. Figures though that more and more folks are doing it.

I stopped into a branch I never go to, got $480 partial box. Found 1 90%er & 1 40%er. They are also ordering me a box for next Tuesday. Been having luck w/ Brinks boxes lately.

Stopped at a Harris bank got $340 partial box, got skunked. Stopped at a Chase got 4 rolls of halves and scored 1 40%er.

Also another BOA branch, the lady handed me an envelope of big dollars, I was thinking this is it....LOL I'm getting Morgans, Peace dollars lol, but was still happy to see 5 Ikes. My first Ikes!

    Today was another good day.

My best box has been from Brinks, clear wrapped from TD, with 24 in a box. However, recently i have had a 4 box skunk streak. I average 1 per paper wrapped box.

10 cwr's of halves... nothing. Did pull a 64 dime from a coinstar though and the Canucks won :)

Still no luck with the coinstar for me. You are lucky, picking those up for less than face!

Also, something just dawned on me about my find earlier at the grocery store. It would seem from reading this thread, that the average of finding a silver dime is something like 1-2/box, and quarters are something like 1 every 3 boxes, yet I found one of each at the same time, in the same place, and there was maybe $2 worth of coinage in the "collection" for lack of better term. What are the odds of that?! Also, I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I am still riding high on it!

Box of Nickels; '43-P Ender, 2 Buffs, both 1916. One is corroded, the other is very well worn.

Do you generally have good luck with nickels? I haven't done a bunch, but out of 5 or 6 boxes, I've only gotten 2 war nicks and one no date buff.

    On the "oddities" front:

Opened a box of H's last night: 1 40%, 3 NIFC's. No biggie. However, on the second to last roll, I'm going through, flipping over the reverses to check dates; I flip one over... Say whaa? It's a reverse on that side too! I thought maybe too many home brews, so I flip it again... double reverse! Heh, turns out it's a magician's coin, but it was very well made. I've had an older 1968 double obverse for years, but never realized, until last night, that the 1968 double obverse is a 40%! lol

Found 9 silver dimes in about $450 customer wrapped rolls +1 %40 in a box not too bad for a one day outing

Cashed in today and grabbed a box of dimes from String and Sons and about $80 in additional rolls (turns out they were dumps).

    Found 1 - Rosie 1950.

Also, while cashing in found a 1956 Quarter and 3 foreign coins (no silver).

    So - for the day:

    1 - 1950 Rosie Dime
    2 - 1956 Washington Quarter

Tomorrow back to pick up my last $400 from my good box from Friday.

    $150 dimes BWR & CWR

    $150 in dimes got me a 57 and a 52 tarnished.
The thing is, the CWR had tons if crap Candian, Aruba, and other foreign currency. Maybe $2-3 dollars worth. I hate when people do that, turns me off from CWR big time.

What do you all do when that happens, just eat the crap foreign currency?

I got a box of Nickels over the weekend and have been pulling everything pre 1960 and saving those (I thought I heard others do the same and they are old anyway). So far I have some 50's and some 40's along with a War nickel. What do you guys do with the pre 60 nickels? Save em Sell em Trade em?

From a teller's tray, I bought a 1940 Washington; this is my fourth silver quarter from circulation.

I just want to make sure I'm understanding this correctly...Your at the bank making a transaction, you spot the silver in the teller's tray of 100 quarters, and then you ask to purchase this specific quarter from her? "The one in the middle that looks silver" you say?
You must have a great eye for silver.
