Wow that's a lot of wheats in the bag and the box! Nice score. Any key or semi dates, or some in good condition?

Did a box of halves today. Brinks has been good to me lately.

    This box had:
    1 90%er
    6 40%ers
    2 Proofs, a 2001 & a nice 1972

Also been finding a lot of nice clad 2008 halves in great shape lately. Odd b/c I had been keeping all 2002 & later dates, but only had 1 2008 before this week, and had plenty of every year besides that from '02-09. Now I think I have a full roll.

    Bob,

You & Erin must have cleaned the whole state of Texas out! Just keep out of Illinois, I'm having luck here right now, you guys have gotten more than your fair share the last few years, LOL.

Got through my box of halves tonight. So, my totals for the day from the box and the $100 from my next box were:

    1 - 90% (1964 Kennedy)
    10 - 40% Kennedy's

Skunk streak if officially over in a big way! Will be out looking for more tomorrow or at least get dimes.

    Good luck to everyone else!

Merc - I think it was stamped May 13th, but I'd have to check in a pile of recycling. I'll pay attention on Monday.

Reason why I think it may be related to my box was that all of the silver in my box (the three 40%ers were enders, haha... talk about a letdown) came concentrated in where I believe they start filling the box. Any proofs in yours?

    Nope - no proofs.

    Found 2 more 40%'ers from CWR's of Halves this morning. So, 24 hour total is 12 - 40%'ers and 1 - 90%ers!

I can't wait for Monday to finish that box that I only picked a $100 from yesterday that had 8 silvers in the first $100.

$250 in dimes yesterday - skunk except for a Mexican 10 centavos.
$50 in pennies - 17 wheats with the oldest being a 1934 (pretty below average boxes than my normal)
Going to rotate all of it today and get more dimes and some quarters to help fill up my daughter's state quarter map. Have a nice weekend everyone!

Went to my favorite bank last night; no H's because the vault manager had just left, and they couldn't do a dual entry. :(

No problem, I said I would pick them up today. Well, cool nerd guy is there this morning, while he's getting out my H's he asks, "Would you like both boxes?" Huh?

They ordered me two boxes "just in case"... Man, I love the new bank!! :hail:

I'll be making them some ice cream for next week. :D

Hey guys, this isn't a roll searching find, but I found a 1959 Panama dime in my change yesterday; is it worth anything?

So I bought 1k in quarters, 1 k in dimes.

I got 1 silver quarter, 1962, haven't seen one of them in a while.

My first box of dimes was clear wrapped, but chock full of blindingly bright 2011 dimes, which made searching harder. I found 1 1963 canadian dime, the only silver in the box, and the second box only had 1 silver as well.

    Not too bad.

THIS HAS TO BE A COINTALK FIRST!

Today, I think, may just have to my luckiest day ever as far as coins go! Read on, and you will see why I have decided to post this in the Roll Searcher's thread.

Started off my wife and I wanted to go to the local furniture store to take a look at some couches and recliners. No intent to buy, just look around and see what they had. I had $1.05 in my pocket. We were close to a Rayley's grocery store. I decided to buy a lottery ticket. I bought the $1 ticket after I had the clerk give me a $1 bill for my change. I walked back down to the furniture store and scratched it.

Now, here are the events that followed:

    1) I scratch the $1 ticket to find that I WON $11. The wife and I decide to swing by McD's to get lunch after the furniture looking is done.

    2) I walk back down to Rayley's to cash in my ticket. As I am waiting for the clerk to cash it out I am planning on going to WF inside the store and getting a roll of halves, and if nothing good is in the roll buying lunch with the halves. Then, I see some coins in what I call a "charity box" on the counter. By that, I mean one of those boxes you put spare change in to fund the local homeless shelters. There is maybe all of $2 at best in this box...but I notice and old-looking dime. I lean over to take a peak at it and notice it is silver...and it is sitting on top of a another silver coin...a quarter!

    3) I ask the manager, "Sir, if I put $1 in this box, can I have that dime and quarter right there?" He says to me "Sure, but you only have to put in the 35 cents." First, I was happily supprised to hear him say yes, and secondly I figured I might as well put in the buck, since I want to donate SOMETHING. He gets his key, opens the box and take out the coins. I was correct, they were both silver. A 1946 Roosie, and a 1964-D Washington.

So, today, I turned $1 into a silver quarter, a silver dime, AND a hefty lunch for my wife and I. I also donated to charity! Tell me, who else can say they have done that with just $1?
