Not at all, it's very poor. I attribute it to TD Banks' supply being more or less filtered out at this point. Gonna pick up a box from WF tomorrow and see how that is before making a final decision.
I only edge search, so no, I haven't.

I'm picking up from BoA, I can't imagine they are dry. I think I'm the only one in my area picking up that many dimes, since they are alway wondering what I'm doing with them and where they go since I never dump there. I typically edge search but with the banks all being closed on Monday I figured I would search that batch for the 1982 no P's

The 1982's are tough to find... tougher than 1999 WAM's. I'd bet you'd have to go through a large volume to find them, and even then, you might not find them, as most were released in the vicinity of Cleveland, Ohio.

Checked my spreadsheet, and this is the longest run of skunk dimes I've ever had.

Picked up a box of dimes from my local BoA on lunch. I looked at the ends quickly and nothin glaring, I'll tear into them later and hope for better luck.

    Second Anniversary Statistics

Two years ago, I found this thread and was shocked that silver could still be found. I decided to give it a shot and got my first box on or about June 1, 2009. Wow, I never dreamed I'd be as successful as I've been. For those just starting out, keep at it. For those who preceeded me, THANKS for posting about it as it has been a lot of fun as well as being rewarding. I never would have done this had I not seen it here on this thread. Here is what I've found in the last two years:

    Nickels:
I've only search 4 or 5 boxes...don't have accurate stats as to how many

    4 War Nickels
    2 Buffalo Nickels

Bob: I'm curious if you have totals for this year only; I see for myself a big dropoff in halves, due to having covered most bases, and thereby spending less time on them. I wonder if you see the same.

    Either way, nice totals.

I don't have stats on the loose/CWR/BWR no in boxes catagory as I just lump all of those together. But, regarding boxes, I can easily get those from my spreadsheet.

Year one: Average silver per box was 3.90
Year two: Average silver per box was 2.89

Wow, VERY interesting. That is quite a difference. Thanks for asking this question Inquisitive....I hadn't looked at this before you asked.

Got $300 BWR Halves from the bank that always has them on hand and found a 67, and a 68! Better than nothing...

I'd say that was a decent box. The last two I went through had nada. Getting harder to find with each passing week.

Every time I start getting paranoid thinking the tellers search the boxes, and re-wrap them behind the counter or in the back where customers can't see, I end up finding a few silver. So, unless they only pull 90% then there is still silver out there...

On eBay they sell wheat penny rolls but than say there are v- nickel ends, Indian heads and mercury dime ends? how can nickels and pennies be mixed in the same roll?

  15. Merc Crazy

Because the sellers intentionally put those coins into the roll to net a higher return. Steer far, far clear.

It's a hook to get you to buy the rolls and probably pay more for them. The middles of the rolls are usually filled with common wheats and what you're really buying are the end coins. It's a common tactic on eBay. People have been doing it for a while and are probably doing okay with them.

Box of cents wrapped up, nothing too abnormal. Several early philly wheats, earliest being a 1913. Also pulled a nice 1998 WAM, probably a 63 or so.

I agree, amazing eye for detail. You really get used to it after a while.

Keep looking, man, you'll find one. Just a matter of time. I keep saying the same thing to myself about the CAM's and the 1996 WAM... and I really believe it. It's only a matter of time... might take me years, but by god, I will find one.

Just offered to send my nicer 1999 WAM to Ken Potter so he can take a further look at it since it's an example off one of the dies that he doesn't own an example of.

What bank do you go to that always has halves on hand. I'm still looking for that bank! I always ask but sometimes I wonder why since no banks around here EVER have them. The next thing out of my mouth is OK, I'll take a box of dimes then.
