Mike; Since I live here in Chicago as you do, I plan to attend it and several other events around the show as well. If we had enough interest, I would like to make a trip to the Chicago Federal Reserve Bank and see their money museum. I have never been there but they had a three page write up about it in February's Coin World. Besides coins and paper currency, they have three separate displays of one million dollars each. One million in $1's, another in strapped $20's and the last in a suitcase with $100's. We should be able to take public transportation there (from the show) provided it is of sufficient interest to everyone. The show alone will take quite a bit of time so it's more of a thought right now and as a side trip.
Reppin CHI so you know I'll be there! I'll be the longhaired hippylike dude! I think I might be telling you where to go or something like that as I volunteered to do anything, when I went to the CICF.
We just got our table assignments - Todd and I will be set up at table 1325. It's a long show this time - set up is Monday and the show opens to the public on Tuesday and goes through Saturday. If you can, please stop by our table and say hi!
Charmy, I will definitely stop by! Look forward to meeting a fellow card player/coin collector that enjoys a good dry red wine! Maybe I can add my 1st red Indian to my small collection! Look forward to meeting you and your son!
I look forward to meeting you too, but one of my sons works here in California, and the other one is working in Italy, so they won't be joining me. However, if you mean Todd, well, thinking of Todd being my son would bring a big huge chuckle to anyone who knows us! But if I were old enough to have a son as OLD as Todd (he he he), he could only dream of being so lucky to have me as his mom! And I certainly would have raised him to be much more courteous and kind and a lot more respectful to his elders! In any event, see you in August!
Charmy , I'll definately be there , then I can meet the lady who's been killing me at poker . Would be looking for a flying eagle cent too . Rusty
Mike it would be a pleasure to meet you in person , what days are you going . Heck I just might take the Blue line El there it starts near my house . Rusty
I am going to be there on Friday all day. I look forward to meeting everyone there! This is looking promising. Lots of people I have been reading for years! It's always so cool to meet them. This is getting me excited for the show already!!! LOL I gotta calm down...
In the past, many CT members have met at my (and Todd's) table (#1325) at NOON each day, so feel free to continue to do so if you wish.
I am thinking about going. What is the best way to get to the show from Union Station, we will take the train to Chicago.
