...Title of thread explains the situation. Please leave your opinions below in the "comments" section. I found this coin in circulation, and I figure it is just VERY STRONG MD, but I figured I'd leave it up for the CoinTalk members to decide. I don't have my hopes set too high so I won't be too disappointed if it is MD. I did not label which parts of the coin are photographed. I hope that you are able to distinguish that on your own.

PS: If anyone has seen my previous thread "My New Source of Coin Photography", yes; These photos were taken with that same microscope. :)

    Thanks in Advance,
    Brian

Tail of the 9 and the upper part of the 1 makes me think DDO

I agree. When first examining this coin, that is the part that caught my eye that lead me to believe it may be a doubled die. After further examination, I agree with others that it is most likely MD... VERY, VERY STRONG MD. Although, I have seen one 1957-D 1c. DDO before. Sorry to say that I don't have a link to the auction house auction it was sold through, though I believe it was through Heritage Auctions.

The loop of the 9 convince me towards MD. If it was a DD, the die depth ( height )of the "doubled" part would be about the same as the "Real" part of the 9 and a line would be visible, but little difference in height.
