I'd rather be the CAM king. But seriously, I better find me a darn CAM, do you know how many boxes of cents I've gone through?

Maybe we should all at least decide 1 common dump bank so we don't forage each others droppings. Also, all the tellers at every bank in Troy know about silver content, who spilled the beans?

In other news, 3 Brinks boxes of halves were skunks.

I know some tellers just know to look for silver. Coin collectors, have husbands/boyfriends/whatevers that collect, interested in the little bonus from selling it, whatever... lots of tellers around here pull silver.

Stopped at only one bank today. They had $3 in halves.....I scored one 40%er. I'll take it for one quick stop. :)

I found a 1964 dime out of 6 rolls I grabbed on the way home. So, two silver Rosie's today. I guess it beats nothing. I also ordered 3 boxes of halves for next week.

I haven't searched anything in a week, stopped by the bank to see if they had halves and they had $260 worth (same bank as my 27 40% score) so I was pretty excited. I hoped to get something good.

After opening 5 or 6 and seeing all the coins facing the same direction and seeing nothing of any value, I realized I got someone else's dump.

    What a bummer

Tomorrow, I'm going around town to get as many dime boxes as possible, just to make me feel better.

I dump at TCF banks, because they have the free coin counters.

Yes, it was fun seeing the silver in the rolls. I almost missed one of them it was very "dirty" on the edge, thought it was clad, but I glanced at them, it "shimmered" at me :) ....

I also admit: This is my first 90% half find in roll searching. My ONLY other 90% half was from loose. So, I'm ordering another box from that branch, my "good luck" branch (scored 3 40%'ers from their last box).

If you check the dates.....you won't miss any. So I take it you just look at edges?

Anyway.....I forgot to mention that on Monday at the coin club meeting, I won a 1963 Franklin half but our newest member, Incarnate from CT, won a GORGEOUS Morgan dollar. I can't remember the year; maybe he'll fill us in.

I look at the edges FIRST, if I see copper, I move on. However, I will still tilt them to "glance" at them, sometimes go thru them quickly for the years.

Same thing for me yesterday. Got about $42 in loose H's that yielded one 40%, then found $200 in CWR H's - the teller had this sly smile, but it was too late; they were all facing the same direction, AND each roll was a single year. Ugh.

2 boxes of dimes; 1941-S (Large S! VF-ish) and a '63. One box had both.

I did my first box of cents in probably a month or a month and a half. The results were pretty good and I may want to get back into searching cents more frequently (Mainly because I want the satisfaction of finding an Indian Head in circulation). I found the following:

*16 Wheats (Oldest was a 1938, I found two of them).
*10 Canadian (Including a 1967 Centennial of Confederation cent)
*A clad Roosevelt dime (That's a first for me; finding a dime in a roll of cents).

Finding dimes is commonplace in penny rolls. But that was a pretty nice box. Finding more than the average amount of wheats (ive found to be about 10-12) is a good haul.

Got $10.50 in halves - skunk all bi-centen
Got $10 in nickles - still have to go thru them
Got $40 in dimes - $30 are skunk still $10 to go thru
Have not have silver all week and been thru $170 in dimes with nothing

The reason I ask is that amongst the 1400 or so 40%ers I've found, there have been 10 to 15 that look copper on the edge. Just a warning. Sometimes the edge doesn't look silver, but a date check will catch it.
