I agree it looks like a 1918. As to answer your question - yes there are ways to find the date. But I like the coin the way it looks in the picture, so I do not recommend them. You can search on nic-a-date and probably find plenty of threads - I do not recommend it.

Not gonna hurt to nic-a-date it, it's already damaged on the obverse with those gnarly roller marks.

Very true - but I think I would still like it better just the way it is.

From what I can see, it has already been nic-a-dated once. That is the only reason you can see the date.

Yeah, that grainy appearance does appear to be nic-a-date or some other type of treatment.

Recent eBay purchase. It's a little beat up, but my sources (online pcgs price guide and red book) say I got a good deal, so I'm pretty happy. NGC VF20

Nice dollar 1966, is she graded?

I bought it raw, and have been thinking about sending it in for grading. It's very flashy, much more flashy than my other Arkansas half, but I'm wondering how the two nicks on the Senator's face will affect the grade. Other than those blemishes, it's a pretty nice looking coin.

I think it has a shot at Ms 64, bot probably a Ms 63.

As well as a 1913 t2 buffalo nickel, 1940 ww2 nazi, 1943 steal penny, german tokens and about 13 foreign coins I don't know much about yet.

I'll post pictures of the ones I mentioned if you guys don't mind :)

If 64 is the best it could go, then it probably wouldn't be worth slabbing it.

I would say higher, but I'm not seeing that screaming luster like you do on higher grades.

I posted scans of the coin, but for some reason my scanner cannot take a good picture of an Unc silver coin. I'll try to get some digital camera photos of it.
