My mother bought an electronic Piggy Bank at a local drug store that takes AAA batteries, and we were testing it last night and we tried a few common denominations, a cent, a nickel, and a quarter, and all registered properly, so I said "Hey! I'm going to try a Susan B. Anthony, and a half!" and get this, BOTH registered as their denomination. The SBA as $1 and the half as 50 cents, so I was like "Wow! I need to get one of these!" and if they do not all sell, I am going to buy one or maybe a couple, seeing as they are only $10 each, and the store has a bunch of them. Oh, and just so you all know, the slot was to small for Eisenhowers, so I'm guessing they would not register properly.

Will the bank accept the Sac or Prez dollars? What about an older half dollar like a Walker or Frankie?

The company was called "Blue Hat Toys" Sorry, no pictures because I have no camera or camera phone. If its a nationwide store, the banks were at "CVS Pharmacy"

I immediately thought and said to my mom, I want to try a steelie, but I haven't tried that yet, and sadly, I sold all of my silver last summer, so I have no Frankies or Walkies to try. :(

The bank should accept Pres and Sac dollars, they are the same as SBAs in magnetic signature, so why not?

    Hope this information helps.

I got one of those electronic piggy banks but I found a problem with it. Unless you watch the amount displayed, sometimes it will not register correctly. Also if the coin pops up just slightly when you are pushing it through, it'll count it twice. So keep that in mind...

Somehow, I cannot get into this. I still can remember the fun we had as kids getting into our banks and counting every coin ourselves to see how much we had. We might do this every week when saving for a special purchase. I evan had a brass covered wagon from "Bank of the West" that I learned to pick the lock on the bottom to get at my coins.

I guess there might be a reason to have the total displayed on the bank ? I just cannot figure out why. lol

Even for little tykes, I would think counting the money, would be a bigger thrill ?

I wonder if the banks go by the electromagnetic signature of the coins, or if the spring that you push the coin on to widen the hole tells the coins denomination from size. :p

The one I have goes by the spring and the widen of the hole.
