i received this in the mail today... pics don't do it justice. this may become my most photographed coin by the time i'm done. the dark spots in the fields on the reverse is, in my opinion, gorgeous blue toning. and i am not a fan of toned coins, but this one may get me thinking otherwise. george iii (1760-1820) shilling, 1787 obv: older laureate and draped bust of king facing right. rev: semée of hearts in hanoverian shield. thanks for looking!! :smile
the sadly lamented shilling was one of our best looking coins over the centuries, this is a great example of the mad george issue.
that really is a beautiful coin. it would be interesting to see what the market was like for UK coins in the US
