Too fast, too furious for my eyes Is there some way to turn off the slide show? I couldn't watch the coins being automatically sequenced & constantly zoomed-in.
The person who gave these to me must have. I am still deciding what myself as a collector will be collecting. I know I have zero mercury dimes and I love the obverse design. Ill be going after one eventually. Really into toned Jeffersons too for some reason. Sorry Im new, What is a trime? 3 cent?
If you like the Mercury obverse, then I think you would like collecting the entire set. Take your time & select single examples that will all match for a good looking set. I like Mercury dimes in VF condition or better. The later dates from 1935 onward are easy to get in high grades of preservation. You should maybe focus on the earlier dates & the later dates will come easy. I'd say more than 98% of the Mercury collections probably do not include the 1916-D in any condition so you don't have to worry about that one key date for a while. You will need to get the 1921 and 1921-D so beware of fakes.
Yeah, thats why Im not going nuts buying stuff right now. I need to educate myself a bit more AND figure out exactly what I am going to collect. This hobby can get messy quickly it looks like if you dont have something to focus on. I do think that a mercury dime set would be a fairly reasonable goal and not TOO overwhelming.
Thanks Mark, I like the IHCs too, I wish I knew a good photographer, some of them are downright gorgeous. In my eyes anyway. Getting out all these coins and sorting them has made me realize I need glasses, lol
