I Bought the Wrong Coin...So, I'm Giving It Away!!!

OK, so I haven’t done a contest in a while and I have been wanting too. I recently ordered some coins online for my collection from a dealer I have used several times in the past. Anyway, I misread my records and one of the coins I ordered I already had…and to make matters worse, I ordered an MS63 and what I already had was a nice MS64, so I can’t use it as an upgrade. Well, my mistake is your fortune because I will use that coin as the prize for this contest.

    Prize
Let’s start with what you’re here for…the prize. The prize for this contest is a WWII era German coin. It’s a 1940-F Zinc 5 Reichpfennig. F is the mint mark for Stuttgart and according the Krause the mintage was 31,381,000. So, it’s not a rare coin…but it is a nice example. Nazi era zinc coins were made with very poor quality control and low grade materials. So, often they are found very pitted or corroded. This coin is a nice uncirculated example that still has some mint luster. So, it’s a common coin but somewhat of a conditional rarity.

I want to make a short statement here. In the past I have been criticized because I collect coins from the Third Reich. If you have a problem with these coins, please don’t post here. I collect them because I’m interested in WWII history and thus I like the coins from those countries.

Sorry, the photo isn't my best.

    Rules

So, how do you win? Well, here is the game. Many of you may know I am a huge sports fan. On my wall, there is a signed photograph of an athlete. That athlete maybe a professional, an amateur, of any sport you can think of. You’re job is to figure out who it is. Here are the rules on how to do that:

So what I want to do is have a “20 Questions” type game in which you try and guess something about the athlete. Now, what I mean is you need to post a “yes or no” answerable question for me to answer about the athlete. The goal is for you to use these as hints to determine the athlete. The first person to do so wins.

Here’s the thing though, you MUST post your questions in the thread. I will come along every once in a while (hopefully a couple times a day) and answer all the questions that have been posted since the last answer. So, everyone will be able to see what your question was and the answer. So, use your “opponents” questions to your advantage. No PM questions will be accepted. If I can’t answer the question “yes or no” I will ask for you to elaborate.

The first person to name athlete on the wall in a post will win.

So, here are the main simplified rules.
    1. Post a “yes or no” question for me to answer about the card.
    2. You may only post one question per “answer cycle”…so, if I haven’t answered your question yet you may not post another (now, I will answer every question that has been asked since the last time I answered…so if I miss one you may repost it). Once I answer your question you may post another
    3. You must have been a registered member of Coin Talk since before May 1, 2011 OR have more than 200 posts to participate.
    4. First person to correctly guess the athlete wins. There is only one athlete.
    5. Questions may be as specific or vague as you want but they must be a yes or no question.
    6. If I feel I can't answer your question clearly, I may ask you to be more specific or rephrase your question.
    7. Any criticism of the prize due to its historical nature (ie being from Nazi Germany) will be grounds for disqualification of the member. I may even decide to end the contest all together if this happens and nobody will win. If you have a problem with the coin, please don’t play.

    Good Luck and Have Fun!!!
