    Absolutely stunning! Thanks for posting.

    What's the story behind "Barbara"?
    What nationality is that

A while back, I posted in the PM Forum a book deal we could get from Mr. Gene Hessler.
There were many folks who ordered the Engravers Line and The International Engravers Line.
Gene decided to include the Engraving of Barbara by his friend John Wallace. From my understanding each of the symbols is = to 5

I am not sure if it ever appeared upon a banknote or not but it is a splendid piece of work.

Rick, you've inspired me to do some scanning. I decided to post my BEP vignette collection as an group presentation. Enjoy! :)

I knew I'd seen that vignette of "Barbara" somewhere but couldn't place it until tonight: ScottishMoney uses it as his avatar! :D

Indeed, SM was in the Book purchase deal back then, if I recall correctly, he mentioned that the vignette shared similar appeal to his daughters visual apperance. I would say she would be a stunning young lady!

I just posted this image on a different thread:
    http://www.cointalk.com/t176715-2/#post1196300

I think I'll post it here also, because it's so unique (and totally unobtainable). It's a proof of the front of a $10,000 Currency Certificate of Deposit, printed circa 1872. Awesome note, never intended for circulation.

<<Funny that this bill is dated 1934, even though the gold coins were recalled the previous year.>>
It is dated 1934 because it is the new post gold coin era scheme of things. Redemption is restricted to those "authorized by law."

Here is another fun fact. Nowhere is "coin" mentioned on this note.
