Got it, I think, anyways I pM'd my answer to you and I hope I'm right!! A little late, I know but someone has to be wrong!! And I hope it's not me!! Thanks again for this super contest, great fun and challenge!! :thumb:
I thought it was just capitalization and spelling... I was fairly certain grammar was stated as being the comma and two periods that were included.
I am feeling number than a sack of rocks right now..please tell me this: did all of you who have sent in your answers just start trying out letters here and there? I'm staring at all too many options right now, and tons of cross-offs Yikes. :'( Lucy
Definition of grammar as defined in Merriam Webster: a : the study of the classes of words, their inflections, and their functions and relations in the sentence b : a study of what is to be preferred and what avoided in inflection and syntax 2 a : the characteristic system of inflections and syntax of a language b : a system of rules that defines the grammatical structure of a language 3 a : a grammar textbook b : speech or writing evaluated according to its conformity to grammatical rules 4 : the principles or rules of an art, science, or technique <a grammar of the theater>; also : a set of such principles or rules
It's mostly a matter of having done these before, knowing that certain letters appear much more often in English than others, and having a good idea of the common words that are likely to appear.
I think I'll post the answer................................................................................................... SOON
The trick with these, Lucy, is to look at the groups of words and find a common word to match and then see if the letters fit in other word. Start with the 2 and 3 letter words. Then, when you have a word with a double letter, think of words that fit it. This is the easiest way to explain it. Once you get the hang of it, they aren't too difficult.
It looks like the entries have died off. I thought we might get more entries than this. I'm thinking of closing the contest earlier rather than waiting until next Friday. What does everyone think? Chris
Oh sure, close it early!! I personally am anxious to see how far off I am.. way off.. Very fun, and surely a challenge! Thank you! Lucy
