I would jump, as these are going, for around $150-$165 in OGP with COAs.

I'd take it too. I bought my sets piecemeal but managed to keep at or under what you are getting them for. Individually they go for $4+ so yeah this is a good deal.

Since 1956 I been buy 2 of each mint & Proof Clad &1992-date silver sets.but since Silver the price changes I had to cut it back to 1 of each

I like to buy them from the mint and dump the problem sets on eBay. I've purchased many of these sets on eBay and found other sellers appear to be doing the same. If they're for your personal collection, since grade is so important, you're being "Penny wise & dollar foolish", unless you can cherry pick them and/or return them.

is this price for all 9 of the sets? Are they the quarter only sets? or the entire proof sets?

  9. Good deal. Go for it... TC

It's an OK price. Mintproducts.com has all 10 clads going for $131. From your original post I assumed you were refering to the full sets. They go for $200.

that was why I felt it important to ask a few questions before deciding to advise him to buy them

Thing is, Mike, I don't remember the mint offering the quarters only proof sets untill later on in the program. Did they offer them from the beginning?

I think they did. I only bought 1999 and 2000 clad sets...and I seem to remember seeing quarter only sets for sale at the same time.

OK, thanks Richie. I get confused sometimes. The silver quarters set wasn't offered from the beginning, right?

I can't remember, I was in the 8th grade when the 1999 set came out and I couldn't afford the silver sets so I didn't even bother to look at them. lol

The clad quarter only sets were offered since the beginning. The silver quarter only sets didn't begin until 2004. This information is from the Redbook. If you look at the proof set values section it lists all the sets and their original issue prices. There are no silver 5 coin quarter sets listed before 2004. But the five coin clad quarter set is listed, with issue prices starting in 1999.

    yes.

The Mint offered Quarter only proof sets for $14.95 starting in 1999. The regular proof sets were $19.95. The Silver proof Set was $31.95. The Mint offered clad quarter only proof sets every year of the program. It was only in 2004 that they introduced the silver version of the quarters only proof set.
