That's a great coin you've got there. The 1889 CC is the key date of the Carson City Morgans. I'm guessing your coin is roughly in Fine condition. In that condition, they are selling for around $900 on eBay right now. Assuming of course, that it's authentic. Any key date of that value that is not in a slab needs to be verified. Bring it to a local dealer, they might be able to help you authenticate it.

I'd say your 1889-CC Morgan is worth between $1200 and $2000 dollars. Super start to your collection. Congrats.
My guess is VG8 but as RaceBannon says it is a tough coin potentially worth quite a bit. I agree it needs authenticating and I'd start with a coin dealer. Assuming there are no issues (rim damage 9 o'clock reverse?) it is worth getting graded and holdered by PCGS or NGC. Lance.
