Lots of fast talk and that,s about all!! everything they sell is over priced as said Here in this thread you could get much better stuff and save big money to boot!
Yea but the ultra rare '70-D half is thrown in and all the mint sets from the 70s are only $10,000 . Gotta get it . LOL
Disagree... strongly. Pizza on TV is reasonably priced... and saves me the effort of looking up the phone number for Pizza Hut.
I wouldn't say it's extreme. The other night they were selling 5 proof sets 1960 through 1964 at $200 ($40 each) before S&H (I’ve never ordered from them, but isn't their S&H ridiculous too?). Aren't those sets going for $25 to $30 each on eBay and at your local shop?
Anyone who buys anything from Coin Vault should have their posting privileges revoked, here, because we wouldn't want them contaminating the newbies. Chris
I think you might be refering to Coin Country. Does the one guy still wear all the crazy hats? I don't understand why you would feel that way. The question does seem legitimate and advice regarding coin programing/selling on TV has been asked (on this forum) in the past.
Did we just get trolled?!? Didn't look at who posted it or post count originally... And. Yup. I think we got trolled. Trace the IP! I bet it's CV posting we should buy their stuff.
They have to pay for the television show, so they charge more. I flip it on once in a while to get a laugh or try to figure out the angle they are working.
You know, Littleton may be a bit overpriced (according to some) but I will state that they accurately grade the coins that they sell. Knowing that the coin is accurately graded may be worth paying a small premium. And for what it's worth, Coin Vault is consistently priced higher than almost everyone. I still want to know who the "Leading Numismatic Catalog" is, but I digress...
Yes, I too would like to know who this "leading numismatic catalog" is. I watch the show every once in awhile, but have never bought anything from them and don't ever see myself doing it either. I find it quite depressing there isn't a coin show on TV that tries to educate rather than sale. I'm sure there are on the net, but being on dialup, I don't have the opportunity to check out such videos.
There isn't an educational show that I know of. I LOVE watching coin related tv and I watch Coin Vault just because it is the ONLY thing I can find. I also watch the HSN and ShopNBC shows because I just love coins that much. If you haven't discovered it yet, what I can offer is a "radio-type" show. A podcast that my 2 partners and I do. It's available on the player embedded on the right hand side of this page. Give it a listen, we'd love to be your Coin Show!
@Mikenoodle: What I'm saying, is that their prices are nearly the same (between the two) and maybe a bit more than Littleton. All though Littleton does have nice graders, I agree there.
I had once heard that SilverTowne had an interest in the ShopNBC program and that one of the others was associated with Littleton. I don't know but if anyone else does, I am curious if it is so. BTW - Maybe the LNC is Littleton just sayin'
