So after calling around to a few coin shops in the area, I've found that nobody wants to buy any Ike dollars. Especially $340 worth. It feels weird doing it, but I guess I'll just have to take them back to the bank. I'll put some on ebay, but most of these are being cashed in, unless somebody has any ideas. It's too bad, really.

3 $100 lots on ebay should net you a profit. I'll hold onto mine for another week, haha.

Then asked if I could order some. His responce....."No they do not make them any more"??????!!!!!! I said Really!!! He said "I'm pretty sure". I said are you SURE????? He says let me go ask my manager. WOW??? WTF!!!!!!!

Merc, you are on a serious roll, good box of halves and great box of dimes. I'm still looking for my first 90% half dollar and would love to find a Walking and a Franklin someday.
Do you keep a tally for your year so far? Would love to see those numbers.

On my lunch I cashed in $55 in dimes at (First Niagra) and picked up the 3 rolls of nickles the teller had (CWR's). They had no halves and I did not want to search Quarters.

Yes I keep track but I do not count anything except boxes.

The spreadsheet is on my work computer so when I go in tomorrow I will post the numbers here.

Wow, those are impressive totals. Where did you find all those Quarters? In boxes?
I rarely search Quarters as I never find any. I have Much better luck with CWR's of dimes.

Most of it (31) was one find, and a really nice TD bank teller.

I have sold lots of 90 Ikes for $120 (plus shipping) or so on ebay. Sometimes more. Do a search and you will see. You can make a little money and then add it to your coin budget for future purchases

I forgot to mention with my really fun box with the Italian 100 Lira coin, I also found a 1982 No FG error Kennedy as well. As I said, it was just a fun box.

    Yesterday....box of dimes: Skunk
$52 of halves (loose and BWR): Skunk

Picking up two more boxes of dimes and a box of quarters too... why not?

Yep, I run into quite few tellers that either don't know much about coins and currency or are intentionally obtuse.

Yep. Just strolling down the street, decided to stop in a Rabobank; asked for halves, teller said he didn't have any, but another teller in the back says she has some... $4 worth loose. Right on top, a 1967! :hail: The first teller then asks me how I know which are the good ones... see my reply to GypsyTears above.

Box of quarters; 1! Oh wait, stupid canadian coinage.

Boxes of dimes; First was a skunk, second had two roosies.

Not a bad day, $3.10 face value 90% silver.

I'm still amazed by your dime success Merc. I've done 17 total dime boxes with 10 Roosies and one Merc as my findings....

    Congrats!!!
