I use BOA, and they haven't hassled me yet, but my wife is old family friends with the manager of our local branch... :kewl:

I found a small Chase branch where the tellers consist of attractive, young ladies and a cool nerd guy; they all seem genuinely interested in my wanting to look through rolls, so they've been really helpful. I took them some fruit from our trees last week and they were all kinds of excited; got plenty more where that came from. :D

Going to my favorite branch tomorrow... Hoping for more good luck. Also going to find out how many tellers work there (I think there's 5) and buy 'em all Subway gift cards since there's a subway two shops down that I'm sure they eat at frequently.

I heard from another member of this site that a teller can get in trouble for accepting gift cards. I was thinking about doing a similar thing as you and somebody cautioned me that they could get in trouble.

Ahh... oh well. I'll call their customer service first, then if that happens to be the case, go to the old fallback in chocolate and donuts.

My girlfriend found a 1955 100 francs in her change today. Is this a silver coin?

Alright, found a '64 and 2 40%ers today, not too bad. Also, I got $340 in Ikes. Nothing special in them, but now I need to find a way to unload them... any suggestions? Coin shops usually pay 5 cents or so over face right?

I took in a box of donuts one day. They hold star notes for me now. I didn't even have to ask.

Man, oh, man. I'm bummed today. Went thru a $1k bag of halves and a $1k bag of quarters....zero, zilch, nada. :( Talk about the damper in the day. Now I gotta put them back in the machine...stupid gas prices!!! :heated:

I did get a bag of cents, maybe somethin good will come of that, 'cept I don't have a mag-glass good enough to notice any double dies or anything like that

Thats ok, today it tested how fast I could go thru 1k of halves, then run them right back to the bank (filled up their bag again) and ran off w/ quarters. Probably looked like I was robbing the place w/ all the bags of money LOL.

Anyway, I plan to take that 1k and go thru 2 boxes at a time, hopefully by the end of the week :) ...and I ordered one of the USB microscope/camera thingies so I can see my cents!!

What is w/ my double posting? I get an error posting replies (2 different computers) and when I do it again, it posts 2 times....maybe it doesn't like Chrome any more?

In all of my roll searching, quarters have been the worst. Since they are so widely used its hard to find anything good. I've had some decent finds with Nickels and Pennies so no complaints there, and I'm lucky to get my hands on ANY half dollars let alone silver ones so once again I can't go wrong there :). I don't search too many dimes but have landed some sliver.

Every time I post I get a "database error" message. I don't repost my message because i know it'll double. I just go back to the end of the thread to see my post.

I am beginning to think quarters are a lost cause as well. I have only found 1 in my searches, and it was in a clear roll at a grocery store, I snagged it. I've been fooled by the occasional Canadian (non-silver) quarter. So, all in all, in my very few weeks doing this, I've probably searched 2-3k in quarters (going thru the clear rolls of boxes at the bank) and only found one :(. I should just save my gas and buy some online LOL.

Just pulled a RD '58 and RB '58 out of a box of cents. Nothing else notable.

I'd be interested to find out how well that works. I've heard that the pictures those take are pretty low quality, but hopefully yours works well!
You may want to pick up a simple 10x loupe, too, for when your microscope isn't near.
