Welcome to the neighborhood! We would need better close-up photos. Try to take some photos from directly overhead rather than at an angle. Are they coins or medals? What is in the tubes? Chris
So in those coins i dont know if they are medals or coins..... -_- but in the tubes.. I found 48- 1964 Kennedy Half dollars 20- 1965-1970 kennedy hald dollars 2- 1944 n 1945 Walking liberty half dollars 10- franklin half dollars 6 mercury dime 8 silver roosevelt dime 10 silver washington quarter 122- 1920-1967 Canadian Silver half dollars 8- 1935-1967 Canadian Silver dollars 4- 1920-1967 Canadian silver Dime and a bunch of other stuff which still sorting
Very nice find! http://www.coinflation.com/silver_coin_values.html can help you with the majority of that stuff. It gives you the value based on silver content alone. Never heard of the Alabama things.
Wow! It looks like you have quite a haul! The melt value alone of the US coins is about $1020, but a dealer wouldn't give you the full amount. He has to make a profit, too. I don't have any idea what the Canadian coins are worth, but I'm sure someone who knows will chime in. As a rule, medals won't have a stated value struck in the design of the coin, like 50c or $1. At first, I thought they might be Alabama commems, but then it dawned on me that you said they were sesquicentennials. The 1921 Alabama commems were centennial half dollars. Chris
I'm guessing you know little about the collecting aspect of coins, and I haven't heard anyone else say this yet so: 1st rule, always hold coins at the edges, never put fingerprints on the faces. Just thought I'd say since you want to sell them, the buyers will appreciate that. Nice new house find, and good luck with your sales! Oh, and don't clean them, they'll lose value.
Oh wow! thank you guys.... its very helpful! Yeah, I'm not a collector and i dont know much.. I got an offer on CL for $2080 just for those coin in the tube alone. =\ is that a good deal?
I wouldn't do it. according to the prices on coinflation, the melt value is $2596.50 for the coins that you told us about in the rolls. Not including what you said you were still sorting. Keep in mind that just because the melt value is $2596.50, that doesn't mean that is what you will get. If you want to sell to that person, make a counteroffer of 2600 and see what they say. I wouldn't accept less than 2300, but I've never made a sale that big, so someone else might be more help.
Did you see my PM? Look at the very top right of the page, "Notifications", next to your username. Click on it and then click on the drop down box. Chris
Hmm yeah I looked it was around that price, so I guess the best price is 2300. Oh I'll reply with that offer. Because some guy offer me 1580 for it n when I look at this, it sush a better Price. And yes Chris I just replied.
alright so i got it for 2200... i might let it go for that price..plus im throwing in like10 more silvers i found as well. do you think that is a good deal?
