I can't say from those photos. Proofs are hard enough to judge from really exceptional pictures. How can you tell about hairlines or rub? But just for grins I'll guess PR65. I like the coin and I hope that it graded 64 or better. It's always a little sad to see another of these old holders die off. Lance.
are you guys sitting down? this kept my upgrade winning streak alive at 9 out of 9. this was the first time i gotten 2 grades upward.
That's just amazing - a two point bump - the best I ever got was a 1 1/2 point bump: eBay seller's images: New Images: I was thrilled with that bump in grade - I can imagine you were elated beyond belief when you got your grade.
thanks,but here's the other side of the coin...i paid $3930 + $49 grading fee,postage,so i'm into the coin at about $4k.
You paid PR 65 money for it. Which doesn't surprise me - nice coins for the grade usually get a premium - [ same with the coin I posted - I paid MS 64+ money for it ]. You still did very well. Congratulations !!
That's why it's important to know grading. It'd be tough to pay that for it if you didn't know it would upgrade.
i didn't paid 65 money for the coin, b/c back then before the market crashed, PR 64 were trading for like $3,900 and PR 65 were probably like $7,500,PR 66 were like 13k??. I've had this coin in my possession for about 18 years before I decided to crack it out and resumbit to PCGS,had i gotten a PR66 grade 18 yrs ago, then yeah i could of made $9k,but in today's market don't think i can profit much,if any. By the way, nice 08-0 quarter.:thumb:
