I almost got an 1893cc (in your coin's grade) about 6 years ago. As it happened, the value in the red book was about 2/3 of the gray sheet. That is normally not the case with the red book & gray sheet. I knew this & hoped the dealer would sell it to me for the (out-of-date) red book price. Unfortunately, the sale didn't happen.

I'm sorry you weren't able to get the CC.
What was the Greysheet price back then, and what would be the going price for a similar '93-CC now?

Do you think I should have it graded? Or give it a nice barial for about 20 years?

I believe that a problem-free 1893CC in VF20 would sell for about $600 today. Someone with a gray sheet in hand would possibly have a better figure. Please don't hold too much stock in my $600 guess at the price. Check recent auction results if you are really interesting in getting one.

    The 80-S is a 63DMPl, the 1885 is a 64PL, the toner is MS64.

This 1882-S doesn't have the typical "cartwheel" type of luster-- its luster is more reminiscent of a concave mirror:

1882-s's have some weird looks to them. I know what you mean by being concave.

Got a nice mail package today, this should be it for a while.
