Collector 1966; I really like the reverse Eagle on this coin, much more than the Saint-Gaudens. It has a vague hint of the Presidential Seal to it.
Hey, Peter must have performed some sort of mumbo jumbo 'cause I'm on AOL and I don't have to scroll the whole screen in order to read the posts or see the pics..... Nice Lance.....
Oh dear, think I may have mis-spoke. Scrolling issues are back when I switched machines. No biggie, I just hop over to "Chrome" and the world's a better place......
Picked up both of these little guys today for melt price with no premium Sorry for the pic quality, snapped them with my phone.
It does, at that. I have always been fascinated with the $20 Liberty ever since I saw my first one as a little kid at a coin club meeting back in 1967. The owner had a price of $50 marked on it, which was a king's ransom for me in those days. What's more, I thought the guy was breaking the law by owning a gold coin! That was because back in those days, there were legal restrictions to owning bullion and certain foreign gold coins, but lots of people had told me that owning any gold coin was illegal! But the guy who took me to the show assured me that it was perfectly legal to own most gold coins, so I decided to save up my pitiful allowance and buy one for myself!
Here 1876 seated dime I picked up it has a re-punched date. I did not see the RPD till I was editing the photos.
here's a few that i picked up today... my new addiction... large cents! found this one in the junk silver bin and found this one in the 10¢ wheatie bin... i pointed it out to the dealer and he let me have it for 10¢ anyway
A strange 1851-O 3cent. I think it maybe a capped die???I sent the same photo off to an expert today.
All 3 sets are gemmy but that 1888 :kewl:is one of best toned coins I seen!4 sure:thumb:Make 88-P look like S/it:kewl:
i like your 1888, jello! nice bit of green tint and rim toning. i think your photo doesnt show off your coin as well as it could
Picked up this in change. The date looks to be a 1913 (partially obscured but readable) variety. The reverse shows the Type II variant. I know my eyes are playing tricks on me but I almost make out the mint mark - a partial "S" just below the "E" in FIVE and "C" in CENTS. I scanned the coin @ 1200 dpi. Is there an inexpensive way to find out for sure on the year and mint mark? Maybe I'm just a wishful thinker.
Wow, that's a spectacular Norfolk. One of my favorites and I would love to have one as nice as yours someday.
