any idea on this coin? on one side it has the spanish coat of arms (Philipp II , III and IV) on the other a burgundian cross its the size of a duit , but i cant find it thanks for your help
definitely not Portugal , portuguese coins of this period have the cross and portuguese shield. its also not Spanish (mainland or colonial) or from the italian part ruled by the spanish (Milan , Sardinia , Naples and Sicily) the key here is the burgundian cross , that s why i think is Holland , Flanders , Brabant (belgium and the netherlands)
If it is I've never seen one like it and I can't find it in any of my books on those countries. But that doesn't mean it isn't either. Maybe DCH will see it, he'll probably know what it is.
Looks to be a Doit(Duit) of Roermond(Spanish Netherlands) issued under Charles II. I can't find it in Krause, but it wouldn't be the first coin they missed....
