My latest was a 1970 5 Kroner from Denmark, nothing special, but I'm putting together a set from 1970, my birth year. I've been working off and on on the 1970 set for a while, but the cost of postage for individual coins on ebay makes the acquisition of these coins cost me far more than their value.

I hear you Jay. I am doing a similar thing with the year 1888.

I just checked my mailbox and lo and behold. This cool 100 Spanish Pesetas silver coin showed up. Its from 1966 and shows the last of the great fascist leaders Francisco Franco "Claudillo" on the Obverse. Its a half ounce of silver ASW and interesting historicaly. And for you old timers... "Yes, he is still dead !!!"

My Gawd Collect. Those are great 8 realies, especially from salvage. I see the one on the left was minted in Mexico City, was the one on the right also minted there or perhaps Madrid. Hard to tell from photo. But, those are a couple of super realies. Coingrads!!!!!

Thanks. :) They were the best ones I found at a recent show. There were others, but they had corroded considerably, even to the point where details had become obliterated. Looking closely at the mintmarks, I see that they both have the M with the little o on top.

Not much to pick up at the show yesterday. There was a nice selection of British Florins (Victoria) but all were over $100 each. I did manage to get this 1904 Republic of Panama diez centesimos de Balboa for a decent price:

Here is a modern Russia 10 Rouble, a bi-metal 2 Euro from Spain and a really fun 1883 Argentina coin which is the size of a USA half dollar.

Very true Jello. I wish I had the stomach to buy silver right now because I am sure we would all be sick if we saw what was being sent to the smelter right now.

Man, what I wouldn't give to have the ability to go through all of the sacks before they got smelted and cherrypick what I wanted.

Does anyone know where you could buy bags of world silver at melt? I wonder if a guy was quick he could pick through it and sell it back with not too much of a chance of a major dip hurting too much.

I recently received my latest foreign NGC submission. I was very pleased with the service and the coins look great in their new holders. They were able to accept a mixed lot of shooting medals, foreign MS coins and a condor token, as well as correcting my attributions on the slabs! Here are a few highlights from the lot!
