I'm fortunate. I think someone has bought the $250 mint bags and is circulating them around my small town of 1000 people. Grocery, hardware store, donut shop, I've recieved dollar coins (P and D) from all such locations. As for suggestion for you, we have a theatre in the next town over. Change is usually in dollar coins and halves. Might be worth a try?
I had no luck with the vending machines. This is the second kind of coin I tried to collect and no place around me has them. FIrst I tried halves and no one had them. Now I tried dollars and no one has them either.
There's a coin shop called "Flint Coin Company" in fenton. They should carry what your looking for. I can get you the Phone number and address if your interested.
that place you pm'd me about worked. They had a few to start off my collection. I also saw a bank I never stopped at before and asked if they had a roll of dollar coins and they did! I got George Washington presidential dollar, John Adams presidential dollar, Thomas Jefferson presidential dollar, and James K. Polk presidential dollar (Extremely shiny.) I also got a Loonie (Canadian $1 coin) and a Sacagawea dollar from 2000. I'm pretty happy! I'm gonna take the ones I didn't keep and dump 'em at a different bank then go back and get more!
I would spend them but I only have $30 including the coins I'm dumping. I could put at least five into circulation. EDIT: I turned the unused coins in and got another roll. This time I got a 2010 Sacagawea. Its got an awesome back, and a Susan B. Anthony from 1979. Great day!
