    I_Love_Silver I love U.S. coinage

I just checked out that persons ebay profile and seems that there are no other items fo sale by her/him... VERY SKETCHY

You're still wasting ebays time... stuff like this, people like you, are why they have to charge such high fees on the sellers.

One thing I would be very careful about is the sellers return policy, because you are going to need it. Most coin sellers won't accept a return once the coin has been removed from the packaging it was sold in (typically a 2x2).

Seller states in listing no return. OP is relying on eBay/Paypal SNAD policy instead.
Good luck getting money if there is none in Paypal account!

I hadn't realized that. It wouldn't surprise me in the least to see this seller just drop off the map and to find that account empty.

People not familiar with ebay/paypal protection let me clue you in. Paypal guarantees the item and its delivery. It doesn't matter at all if the seller closes down all bank accounts and moves to China. Paypal puts the funds back into the buyers account if they find in their favor and then goes after the seller if needed. Anyways, it is useless all the comments at this point about similar things. I will update when I have new info.

Well good luck, keep us posted. How did all the other coin lots you buy work out? Some lots around $500.

one for almost $1400 has been over 2 1/2 weeks and no contact/item. That is the only one that I am concerned about and waiting to have that one resolved. Bought about 2.5 lbs (in 5 or 6 purchases) of silver coins from one guy for under spot, which is always nice and those should be coming early this week.

That's e bay for you. I bet those are just regular old cents, taken in black and white photos to make them look like steel when they are just copper.

I for one hope they are real and you make out like a bandit!! I wouldn't bet 2 cents on it, but I hope they're real.

If only your odds were even comparable to a "shot in the dark" on this one than I would be on your side with it being a gamble. "This is a shot in the dark with an unloaded gun and no one else even there to hit!", So if you take "shot in the dark" out of the quote up above than I guess the remainder of the quote sums up what we have here... :thumb: or did I miss something?

But why take a chance with 1000 bucks?

People need to understand that money and risk tolerance is something that varies from person to person. The bunch of extra comments on here saying the same thing is redundant. Lets just agree that there is no chance that it is real to keep everyone happy and I will update when (or if) I receive the coins and confirm this for everyone

I am sorry, but you took a stupid risk buddy. It's one thing if you bought a 1909-S VDB cent or a 1914-D but 1944 Steel cents? There's less than 10 or so known, and that is like 1000 times rarer than an 09-S VDB. There's a better chance of receiving a semi key date by mistake than receiving TWO legit 1944 steel cents.

The seller sold FOUR of them! 2 to the OP.

We've had our disagreements, but dead on.

Stupid, stupid risk to take. I hope the OP gets burned at least a little bit so he learns a lesson.

I admire what you've done. I do these things also.

I'd say the coin is worth it, just from how it "perked" up the forum! (laughs) "(zzzzz ...Huh? Whazzat?.... Whatcha .....whatchu got there?" (LAUGHS)

Yes, IQ, the entertainment value made it worth the risk alone.
