It’s a pattern (proba), it was different and not expensive so it came home with me. There doesn’t seem to be much of a market for the European patterns unless they’re pretty old. Anybody have any interesting patterns?
I owned one of these patterns, and for 90% of the time I owned it I didn't recognize what it was (I thought it was an apple core or an hourglass.) Smart in some ways, not so smart in others.
I was probably around 30 when I realized the name "the Beatles" was a pun. Sometimes things are right in front of you and you miss them. Here's my copy of this coin.
Seems as though Poland and France have tons of patterns out there! I owned some Polish ones from the 70's, but sold them a few years back. Some have quite low mintages and command a premium according to price guides.
LordM remembers. Along with that pattern, I have quite the set of maternity medals of which there are several with feeding a baby. And nuts that feeding children is somehow NSFW. People are weird to have come up with something so basic being 'uncomfortable'. Interestingly this particular pattern comes in two metal varieties (Copper Nickel vs. Nickel) and one is actually quite scarce to the point I don't think I've seen it.
Haha, same here. I was looking at it for a few minutes trying to figure out what the heck it was, before I saw it.
