Fake Coins Seized at O'Hare Airport

    US Customs seized a shipment of about 360 fake Trade Dollars originating from China. It was supposed to reach an Illinois man who said he was planning on selling them on an auction website. They said it's the "first" shipment like this they've found... looks like the US goverment is wayyyyy behind... this has been going on for a while now.

    Even though they caught this 1 box, who knows if another 100 got through in other states. Two steps forward for counterfeiters finding a wholesale market in the US, zero steps forward for the US and the collecting community.

    I'm convinced that 90% of the coins on eBay that are either A) Chinese, and/or B) Shipping from China, are fakes. It annoys me to no friggin end.
