Coins with double edge?

I found one of the 2010 shield pennies that has an edge inside the outside edge on the shield side. Anyone know what causes this? I noticed that the shield looked too close to the edge on the right side and here there were 2 edges, the inside one is kind of moon shaped and goes about 1/3 of the way around the penny. Kind of looks like a wave because the cent part of the shield is like recessed into the wave. If this sounds interesting i can see if i can get a pic up, otherwise i was just wondering what might have happened to it.

Please post photos. I suspect you are talking about the the rim, not the edge. It could possibly be a MAD (misaligned die) but without photos that is only a guess.

Sounds like a partial collar broadstruck cent.

Finally got to get a pic of this that looks decent. I think you can see it pretty good in these, last one is just the other side. It's more round than moon shaped.

Hopefully someone will be able to tell me if that's either thing that was mentioned earlier in the thread. Also though, some coins have that same effect that goes up to the rim like it was struck weird on one side or something and there's a clear bubble. Anyone know what that is?

Can't swear to it, but I think that inner line your seeing is due to the coin being struck with the dies out of parallel. It's not that incommon to see coins like this.

Worn die. It's the same kind of ridge commonly seen on the obverse through the IGWT

Yeah, after looking at a billion of these i'd say it's that also, this one is just a little more visible. Just about every other one has it it seems to one extent or the other. I'm thinking the others i was talking about above were somehow struck at an angle, that's what they look like anyway.
