Hi, Im a new coin collector and am getting started with something easy, the 50 States Quarters and the America the Beautiful quarters. I have about 16 of the state quarters in my month of collecting, but none of the America the Beautiful quarters.

Anyone have any tips on where to find these quarters without paying over the face value for them?

    Thanks!

Find a nice teller at your local bank.

Each teller has a drawer of coins and cash. Tell them you are a coin collector and ask if they have any of the National Park quarters in their drawer and if they do that you would like exchange your money for them.

Or find a friend who is a cashier somewhere. Same thing. Ask them/put them on the lookout for what you need. Like at the end of their shift, ask them to check their drawer for new quarters.

Stop by a car wash and use their change machine to get $5 or $10 worth of quarters. After searching those quarters you can either spend them or take them to your bank to exchange for currency.

I had the same problem as you. I could not find any ATB quarters. All of a sudden i just got really lucky. A few days ago my grandma said there was a quarter in her room and she didnt know if it meant anything to me. Turned out to be a gettysburg in au condition. Last night i looked through my dads xhange from the day and found a BU yellowstone(yes i know it was circulated but it is in perfect condition so its still in bu condition) and then last night my best friend called me and said he found a mt hood quarter and hes giving it to me. But yah banks and everyday change are your best bets

Nice, I went to the car wash today not in search of the new quarters, just there to wash my car and I put two dollars in. I got one Grand Canyon quarter and a couple of the statehood quarters I needed. Needless to say I didnt wash my car lol.

Seems to me that in my neck o' the woods all kinds of statehood quarters have been "popping" of late. Guess a lot of folks have decided that it's no longer necessary to hang on to these issues. I've been recieving DE. and PA. and CT.'s by the score. ATB's? Narry a hair......

Find a good change machine like stated before. I have access to one that cashes in $20's and $5's. With 20's it gives you 20 dollar coins and 5's it gives you 2 dollar coins and 12 quarters. This is how I have collected all the new prez dollars and state quarters in albums for my kids. Your local post office might have a machine that gives you prez dollars if you are interested in them as well. I have only found 1 ATB quarter in circ.... Yellowstone P

I am interested in the presidential dollars. I live in a small town and don't know if the post office has a machine like that. I will call them and ask! Already using some advice given to me here in this thread Ive found half of the state quarters I needed and two ATB quarters (both grand canyon.)

I live outside a small town and they have one. Maybe you will get lucky! Sounds like you are already doing better than me on the ATB quarters! lol

Went to my grandparents house today for easter and my grandmother gave my brother the Hot Springs quarter.I was a little bummed that I didnt get one. On our way home (two hour car drive) we stopped at McDonalds to get a coke. In our change we got another Hot Springs quarter in better condition then the one my brother got. Needless to say I got the one in better condition.

Good things come to those who wait.
