If things get that bad who wants to live for three days?

Better get them now. They'll probably cost $75 by Tuesday
I wish I had loaded up when they were under $15

lol Well, maybe people could buy a few of them? I love the picture. A plaid blanket, emergency radio and a candle. May as well have a .45 and a first aid kit laying there too.

If they're lightweight, freeze-dried meals...they may be some good vittles to take on a weekend hike. Actually, for freeze-dried meals, the price isn't too bad, either.

I always carry a few MRE's when I'm hunting. If something happens we're about a week's hike out and there's no cell phone coverage. I actually like the newer ones...better than most fast food junk.

Impending doom lurks around the corner... Is it possible? Anything is possible. I have food, water, P.M. and a .45 with plenty of ammo (is one .45 enough?).

I don't agree with the decisions our leaders are making; I don't like how the Feds can print money at will. Doesn't it seem like a single global currency may be the end result?

There is radiation pouring into our air and ocean, no end in sight.

Middle East turmoil; no end in sight.

We are in unchartered territory and I don't think you can compare these times to past events and conclude.

I am a happy go lucky kinda guy, always laughing and smiling (even though I am going through some health stuff) and I hope I don't come across as a pessimist. I believe everything has a purpose and things happen for a reason and it's all good but I am not oblivious either.

Just cut the right direction, towards the outside, not inward :)

    Zirbg,

I'm with you. I am prepared to the poin that I have food stockpiled for 2 weeks, 4 guns with over 3000 rounds of ammo, plenty of PM's, and 15 acres of land. Hopefully I will never need it but I am prepared and not scared. Some on this website are so against the thought of something bad happening that they rebuff every negative idea that is presented. I think this is a irresponsible position to take.

We can all only be so lucky if nothing bad happens.

    Thanks Erblaz,
I was beginning to think I was the only realist around here. It's funny how folks like you and me hope that we are wrong while others are hung up on being right.

Seems like you are ready, I like your (backup) plan.

No harm in being prepared for bad things. Thats an everyday reality for those of us in CA. But, theres a difference between being prepared and awaiting imminent doom. I saw all the clowns that stockpiled food and water and bought generators for Y2K even though a rational person knew there it was all boloney. I think Hollywood has crushed the reality from our minds about what we would do in a disaster situation. Look at Japan. It's basically back in the stone ages there now, but people aren't running around shooting each other for food, trading bullion for supplies or even cruising dry lake beds in Mad Max type vehicles. If things were worse there everyone would be dead, yet there is civility. Do what you have to do, but be realistic.

Y2k is a joke, surprised that it would even make conversation here.

I admire the Japanese people for how they are handling things, very impressive, but to think that us Americans are that civil... That's giving us too much undeserved credit.

Do You think the gangs of L.A. would wait in line for food?

    Veeery Interesting!!

I wonder if they currently would accept my $1.65 Silver dimes and nickels payment which at this moment has a greater market melt value than their stated food value. Their food may have deteriorated before it is needed, while my Silver should still be intact. Just A Thought!! :smile
