Yes, wrong forum, but I know a fair number of you guys collect coins, and this is my "home turf".

I was just down visiting my mother and out of the blue she told me she had some gold coins that she bought years ago, and wanted to give me one. Cool, thanks Mom! One for me, one for my sister. I picked the one designed by St. Gaudens, you know I'm a fan of the artist :)

It is seriously a nice coin, bought around 1970, and is stored in a paper gizmo, I think it's called a "flip"? Stapled around the edges, protected by thin clear plastic. I have a feeling this coin should be protected a bit better than that. What's the appropriate storage I should have this in? I have no need to get it graded, I'm not trying to sell it, but would like to be able to "handle" it without fear of doing any damage to the surface.

    Thanks
    Dave

Aside from getting it slabebd by a TPG, I would recommend the round, plastic airtite case for it. Or you could get a little fancier with a nice plastic case from Capital.
    Here are the airtites:

The airtights can be bought at any local coin shop for relatively cheap and are well worth it for you St. Gaudens.

She already has a 52 year old, but I'll check with her and see. :)

You'd have to arm wrestle my sister for the remaining Liberty coin though...
